I once taught a Bible study on God's sovereignty and asked the people what it meant. One person said, "The sovereignty of God means that He is pure." I learnt a valuable lesson that day: people can hear Bible teaching for years without knowing what a certain truth means. What do we mean when we say that God is sovereign? We simply mean that He reigns supreme, or above all. The Bible clearly teaches that God has complete control over nature, coincidence, kings, nations, the details of life, history, angels, demons, human evil, salvation, and the rest of creation. A good Bible student will not simply accept my word for it, but will measure this sermon by God's inerrant Word. A message by Ivor Jefferies.
