Various Passages
Scripture is our ultimate authority. The Bible is not true because archaeology, science, a church council, logic, or 2.6 billion professing Christians say so. If that were true the Bible would be subject to some higher authority. If someone were to say to me, "Prove to me that the Bible is true," I would answer that the Bible is it's own authority. Some would object that this is circular reasoning. But if someone were to say to you, "Prove to me that the sun exists," you would say that the sun proves itself by its own light. In the same way the Bible proves itself to be the supernatural Word of God to all who will read it with an open mind, and an honest heart. Jesus said, “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” (John 7:17). A message by Ivor Jefferies.
