Various Passages
Ayers Rock is 3.6 km x 1.5 km x 348 m with a circumference of 9.4 km. It is the largest single standing rock in the world. It has remained steadfast over the ages against wind, fire, earthquakes, floods and storms. And yet it is slowly eroding over time. God is not like this, but is an immovable and unchangeable Rock; faithful and steadfast. He is not omniscient today, and ignorant tomorrow; kind today, and cruel tomorrow; holy today, and evil tomorrow; omnipotent today, and weak tomorrow. The fact of his unchanging nature provides great comfort to believers.
"For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you."
