Various Passages
God's omnipotence means that his power has no limit. It does not mean He can do anything. God cannot lie (Tit. 1:2). He cannot die, sin or deny Himself; He cannot be unfaithful (1 Tim. 6:16, Jas. 1:13, 2 Tim. 2:13). God's inability to do these things does not negate his omnipotence. We should rather say, God is so powerful that He has the ability to not sin, lie, die or deny Himself. His power is so great that He cannot do anything illogical or nonsensical. God cannot create a rock so big that He Himself cannot lift it. To make such a statement is illogical nonsense. It is like asking a decent and godly husband, "Have you stopped beating your wife?"
