Psalm 73
Psalm 73 deals with some of the most prevalent temptations for the apostasy of Christians, those that leave the faith. The core reason is that of unbelief when people start doubting the Word of God, doubting Jesus Christ and the Gospel. Some of the symptoms identified in the passage are the envy of the world, believing in a prosperity gospel, questioning God’s judgement and goodness and the lack of fear of God. The Psalm also gives us the solution – the cure for unbelief is faith. Not mindless, blind faith accepting some statements, but trust in the truth of the Bible that leads to trust in the person and character of Christ. The end of faith is Jesus.
