2 Cor 4:1-12
We can get discouraged when we do not see the results of our evangelization efforts. However, we must remain faithful in the Gospel ministry. We must remember that the ministry is not about us but about the Lord. It is about the power of the Lord who saves. It is not important how quickly the church grows but how faithful you are in bringing truth to people and serving the Lord because you know it is about the power of God, who saves. The truth and glory of God come to us in jars of clay—fragile and expendable. The issue is not the fancy packaging but the wonderful gospel's contents. You do not have to be an excellent preacher to convey the message. God is the one who brings growth through His surpassing power. Christ in us is not to be kept secret; it must shine forth. The pot's shape, size or beauty is irrelevant; what is important is the contents. God uses cracked clay pots, such as ourselves, and the surpassing power of the gospel to change people. Even the very Son of God had a clay pot through which he brought his ministry and died on the cross for us so that our sins could be forgiven. A message by Doug van Meter.
