Providence is a city of Rhode Island in the United States. Roger Williams founded it in the 1600's. He called it Providence after his belief in the God who controls all things. Was he right; is divine providence Biblical? Was R.C. Sproul right in saying there are no maverick molecules? Is it true to say every atom in the universe fulfills some divine purpose? Or should we rather say God created the framework, but is not necessarily concerned with every detail; that He has designed natural laws, and that his creation operates according to these laws without his intervention at every point?
