2 Corinthians 1:1-11
It seems that severe illness has taken a hold of many in our church. Several of our people have stage 4 cancer, and others are suffering from long-term illnesses. Many who read this will testify to similar difficulties. Why does God allow this, and why does He not instantly deliver us from such trials? Paul knew better than most what it feels like to experience excruciating trials. According to his own testimony, "we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death." (2 Cor. 1:8-9). How did he hold up under these trials, and how should you follow his example? A message by Leon Harmse.
