Various Passages
To explain God's eternity to someone bound by time is like trying to explain 3 dimensions to a stick man, or colour to a man born blind. Who can fathom a Being with no beginning and end, and without succession of moments? Of such a God Tozer says, “He appears at the beginning and end of time simultaneously”. Isa. 46:10 describes Him as One “declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done”. Compared to this God our life is but a dream; a vapour and a mist that disappears before the rising sun. To comprehend the eternal One is beyond our grasp. Yet this is no mere theory but has practical implications for repentance, anxiety about the future, persevering prayer, and more. For the sake of time I will limit myself to two implications: an eternal heaven and eternal hell. As the consequences are eternal, I would ask you to listen well. A message by Ivor Jefferies.
